This 2025 11” x 15” original artwork is unframed. It was created with ink and acrylic paint on heavy water color paper.

Here is a Great Blue Heron couple with their young in the nest on Saddle Bag Island Marine State Park, one of their nesting grounds in the Salish Sea. March and April is when to spot this there in person. I visited Saddlebag island in July 2024. Too late to see chicks in the nest, but a great time to see their nests up in the trees and watch them interact for hours at a time from the boat cockpit or rowing ashore for a walk along the island paths. 

As always, at least 10% of sales (more when I can manage it) will be donated to various local nonprofits working to restore our Salish Sea and the Cascadia ecosystem.
