An August sailing adventure to remember! We spent a day and night on the hook in Winter Cove off Saturna island and Samuel islands in the Gulf islands, BC. This is looking through Boat Pass, which is between both the islands and sometimes passable by boat depending on the height of the tide. The last full moon of 2023 was quite the sky show, in my location anyway. The moon was a glowing orb, radiating a circle of light around it that contained ethereal rainbow color changes as the light particles interacted with the water droplets in the clouds. The moon that night was sailing on an ethereal sea of steadily north-moving clouds that were sometimes whispy, sometimes more solid. Impossible to capture on film, this is my attempt to record the show with watercolors.
