An August sailing adventure to remember! We spent a night on the hook in Blind Bay off Shaw island. This is looking west as the sun set over Shaw island and Orcas island beyond. I did 4 variations on the quick-changing view from the stern of our sailboat as the gorgeous sunset technicolor cloud show closed out a full day of sailing/motoring.

On a sailboat trip among the San Juan (US) and Gulf islands (BC), I brought a small stack of water color paper, paint and brushes to document the play of the sun on the water and islands. This small watercolor study hopefully conveys the magic that is sailing among the islands in high summer.
