My Nature Studies Series celebrate characteristics of the natural world of the Salish Sea. This is a depiction of the life cycles of pinto abalone and one of its favorite foods - bull kelp. The Puget Sound Restoration Fund are working to restore populations of both in several Salish Sea locations.

This was a dream project for sure. It was an absolute joy to meet the scientists, see the hatchery operation and have their expertise just an email away as I worked on sketches and this final piece.
