workshop details
immerse yourself in creativity & the natural world. leave your daily life behind & explore, uncover, discover & strengthen your natural creative abilities using tools such as drawing, collage, photography, writing & discussions. beginner, intermediate & professional art-makers will all benefit from these 5 uninterrupted days of creativity with a small community in the gorgeous natural surroundings of channel rock’s 140 acres of forest, gardens & the surrounding sea. we’ll see, record & discuss small details in ourselves, the forest, the garden & on the sea. we’ll also swim, kayak, hike, eat, sleep, reflect. this will be a once-in-a-lifetime treat!
i’ve taught numerous hands-on workshops & classes on the processes of art & design. my book drawing nature, stationary collections and original artwork are sold in museums, galleries & shops world-wide. i spent the winter on sabbatical at channel rock [peruse the back pages of my blog to see the gorgeousness!], and will return in august to share my intimate knowledge of writer gilean douglas’ former homestead & guide 20 participants through daily creative nature-based workshops, exercises & discussions.
our 5 days together will include:
* daily 4-6 hour nature-based creativity workshops
* plenty of unscheduled time in the mornings & evenings to explore & reflect on your own
* daily local-made artisan organic vegetarian buffet breakfast, lunch, dinner & 2 snacks
* 6 nights of shared accommodation on a real bed with all bedding & towels provided [yes, even in the provided tents!]
* an optional guided permaculture garden tour with the homestead’s head gardener
