kati, our retreat cook, has begun planning & planting for the 3-day drawing & eating retreat’s breakfast & lunch menu in july. these are some pics of her animals & gardens that will provide our meals, along with provisions from my own garden.

this is going to be FUN!

there’s still a handful of spots left for the day program, but the guesthouse is full!

hey, what are you doing july 13 – 15? come hang out with me and your other new best friends and draw and eat and drink with us!

sign up for my art+drawing+eating vacation & retreat today!

we’ll spend the mornings enjoying localvore breakfasts and endless cups of coffee and tea while drawing in my studio [above], take a mid-day break for an amazing home-cooked vegetarian localvore buffet lunch, then spend the afternoons drawing or exploring my studio garden and neighborhood. happy hours start at 5pm. the evenings will be your own to spend exploring the town – i have many walkable bar, cafe and restaurant suggestions for you! the catered food alone is worth the cost of the workshop [because i love food!], and july is a fabulous month to visit portland – dusk is around 9:30 pm!

there’s still one room left in my guesthouse, or i can make arrangements for you to stay close by. sign up for my art+drawing+eating vacation & retreat today, or let me know if you have further questions!

only 149 days until this workshop begins! i’m so looking forward to this! join us, won’t you?

naho, an old classmate from parsons, spotted these in the itoya stationery shop in tokyo. apparently it’s the primo stationery shop there – 9 floors!!! – how did i miss it the last 2 times i visited?! perhaps this is a good excuse to make plans to visit japan again this year! ha!

i’ve just emailed out my monthly newsletter which includes a project for which i’ve been busy hammering out all the logistics for many months: my annual summer one-day workshops have been replaced by a 3-day colossal vacation/retreat!

i’m so excited to bring you the opportunity that many of you have been asking me for: a prolonged taste of the daily life of an independent artist [without any of the headaches]!

for three days in july, 10 guests can stay in the guest house where my art studio resides, and enjoy daily drawing seminars in my studio while local professional friends drop in to cook for us, teach us about native ecology, and many other portland-specific treats yet to be fully confirmed!

please consider joining us!

last night i hosted my first-ever open studio sales event. it was luxurious to have the opportunity to clean & organize & work AND visit with old and new friends alike at the same time AND offer them amazing deals & forgotten gems! i’ll definitely have another one this spring! in the meantime…

this afternoon/evening and tomorrow my wares & i will be at the nicely curated capitol hill elementary holiday market. i’ll bring along some of my clearance items left over from the studio sale last night.

while sunday is devoted to handmade nw’s holiday formal event!

monday i’ll be packing up the last of the online shop orders shipping in time for christmas delivery, and then tuesday… well, tuesday will be devoted to sleeping and cleaning!

some of us girlz are taking over that bastion of boyz & graffiti – upper playground – just in time for the holidaze. [sorry, couldn't resist all those z's!]

this was part of my day yesterday. ‘what, where, who is it’ you ask? stay tuned, all will be revealed in due time!

before this past weekend of sales events & then illness [no surprise after the life i've been living lately], i hung a collection of my anima posters at the beaumont location of ristretto roasters for the month. gotta love their coffee cup graphics, and how classy does my work look in that space?!

you can check them out in person at 3520 ne 42nd avenue, at fremont until december 3.

finally had a chance to update my etsy shop, just in time for the holiday season!

back in my studio this week, and it’s been busy catching up! hope to get to regular blog posts next week!

now that i’ve confirmed a come-home-to-portland date [early next week!] i can also confirm that i’ll be at the holiday market above! if you come, you’ll be the first to see the debut of my new just-for-the-holidays goodies!
