i love the rain. now that it’s here again my allergies have waned and i can concentrate on work! i’ve been working on new projects, and cleaning. above is one of the  patterns i’m working on for upcoming products. do you recognize parts of it? [hint: check out the photo of my last post!]

yessss: new products. mostly of the paper variety. in the next two weeks i’ll be working on more new patterns and designs, then the printers will take over and do their part. if all goes according to plan, the new goodies will be ready to debut the first week of april.

cleaning! i’ve finally gone through each and every box that was dumped in the basement in my last move. i’ve uncovered some great forgotten art treasures! i’m photographing everything and plan to have a one-day online super art sale on friday, march 20 – the official first day of spring. fabulous prices on art needing a good home, all proceeds will go towards financing the new paper goods. subscribe to my newsletter list [located in the bottom left corner] if you’d like to receive advance notice!

spring!

growth

it feels way too early to be spring, but my sinuses and budding bulbs around town say otherwise! at least the bulbs, and all the moss, are gorgeous to look at on my daily walks. my sinuses? not so much.

the ecoprenurist blog has a mini-interview with me in today’s edition.

ps: know a guy [or gal] who wears a size 8 shoe and digs the ocean? i visited my local eco-awesomeness shop, olio united, late last week and noticed they still have one pair of my custom-drawn tom’s shoes in the shop. by purchasing these you’ll not only get a steal of a deal, you’ll also support a charity [transitions cambodia], a shop [olio], an artist [me] and a shoe company [tom's]!

i didn’t clean my studio over the weekend as i’d planned. instead, i mostly sequestered myself on the couch with pens and paper to work on the art for my upcoming show at little green grocer here in portland early next month [preview image above]! and watch crappy movies or hgtv or cnn on tv. actually, when i’m drawing i don’t so much watch as listen. other artist friends rave about books on tape from the library – i should really check that out!

my favorite printer to work with, pinball, has posted an interview with me on their blog. a  young family-owned business that’s eco-conscious, friendly, incredibly helpful and easy to work with, pinball’s always been my top choice when it comes to printing things. they’re also one of the many reasons i’m thankful to now be portland-based, so i can work with them even more! shipping paper goods can be costly, so you always want to choose as local a printer as possible to keep costs down.

sorry, my blog has been a tad neglected while i had some old friends in town. one of the positives of this recession is that we all have more time to spend with one another! i enjoyed showing off my town, making soup and drinking box wine – hey, it’s not so bad when the choice is that or nothing! while i was busy with my friends, kate bingaman-burt at portland state u. posted these work tidbits of mine on their various blogs!

speaking of psu, they’re also having the guys from grass hut give a talk next wednesday… i’m going to try to make it, and you should too!

this next week is devoted to a private commission art project [as usual, more details once it's finished], working on new goodies for my stationery line and two upcoming art shows here in portland. ah, i love february. and i can’t wait for spring!
