i’m super excited about the datebooks this year! flowers, leaves, pink… what’s not to love? i’ll be shipping them out to shops around the world this upcoming week, along with my and saelee’s yearly calendar [more on those later]. look for them in my online shop next week too. more on the online shop later too! there’s lots going on here in the studio in the next few weeks, i’ll do my best to breathe every once in a while, and keep the blog updated.

these are two of the 3 pairs of toms shoes i decorated for the upcoming silent auction at olio united here in portland. i love tom’s shoes [i have 3 pairs, which is very uncharacteristic of me], and about half my wardrobe is from olio. they stock the most irresistible selection of fair trade and sustainable clothing and housewares in town!
olio’s one-year anniversary celebration is this upcoming weekend. the shoe auction is friday, august 29, 7 – 10 pm and benefits transitions cambodia. visit olio’s website for more info., or come in person to 1028 se water avenue!

to go along with my newly redesigned website, this is my brand spanking new blog. i’ve tried maintaining a blog once before, but life got in the way and then i stopped. well, we’ll see how this one goes!
let’s see, a little about me: i’m an artist, designer and crafter, which i’ve been doing the past seven years in between lots of other jobs. originally from northern california [the bay area and a farm in the central valley near chico], i’ve also lived in nyc, and currently call lovely and amazing portland oregon home and hope never to leave. i love rainy days, overcast weather, moss, and trees; so this is the perfect place for me!
in the past year i’ve realized working 80+ hours a week is insane, even if you love what you do. i’ve been investigating ways to simplify my life so i can still do what i love but not so much it makes me crazy. since my art and craft hobbies turned into my job, i’ve had to cultivate new hobbies. so far here’s what i’ve come up with: vegetable gardening, home improvement projects, hiking, dinner parties with friends, camping. basically, nesting and investigating the world close by.
