(Animal Habitats series)
19″ x 24″ ink on paper. 2009.
My Anima series explores the shape and form of nature in the Pacific Northwest. Here the spring & summer butterflies are re-imagined as the mountain floral meadow ecosystem of plants & animals in which they live. I created this piece after a magical hike up Mt. Hood when I lived in Portland, Oregon. A friend and I wound our way up a mountain trail through wildflower meadows as the butterflies zoomed around us.
